Advice for Frustrated Wives

Advice for Frustrated Wives German Postcard

This image might not be a vintage one, though it’s certainly intended to appear that way, despite the modern bow. Alienne in Germany translates this bit of advice: “Frustrated wives should surprise their husbands when they come home from work.” Hopefully that’s Cupid’s arrow she’s strung, and not the more lethal kind. Alienne also believes that this young lady’s arms are far too thin to manage the bow; I think that she can probably do whatever she sets her mind to.

Over at Sepia Saturday it’s been pointed out, rightfully so, that it’s no sacrifice to combine your love of sport with your one true love. Pay them a visit, and give them a sporting chance.

Surely with arms that thin she has to be anorexic.

    That bow looks lethal.

That’s one of the funniest ads I’ve seen in a long time!

Good pick-up of Valentine’s Day attitude, though I don’t think the ad really was designed for it. I wonder what business Ailenne is in…certainly not the dress, which seems several sizes too large for this little model. It does have some international humor doesn’t it?

Wow. That husband would be in for a big surprise.

Oh I have to agree that the young lady does not look healthy with those collar bones and ribs sticking out. But even a mere slip of a girl can do some serious damage with a bow and arrow.
