La Plage de Calvi
There’s never a bad time to be thinking about a beach, but February seems like a particularly good time. Angelika sent me this card a few years ago from Atlanta; it depicts a 1928 poster by Roger Broders (1883-1953), a French illustrator best known for travel posters like these. Broders worked for the Paris Lyon Mediterranean Railroad Company for ten years producing these posters. I have to admit that I’m hard-pressed to fathom how one might reach Corsica or other Mediterranean destinations from Paris or Lyon by rail, but I’m sure they had something worked out for the tourist trade.
